CARD SORT ACTIVITY-
I recruited my co-workers for this card sorting activity. As a Graphic Designer in Higher Education (NC State University) I am lucky to have co-workers with background in UI/UX.
For this activity I used printed i-phone screens for the card sorting activity. I gave different print outs/screens to each participant. There were three participants total. One of the print outs had pre-filled out "app" choices on their "dashboard." The other had blanks so the participant could fill out which apps they wish were on their dashboard.
Each piece of the card sorting activity I printed separately. For example, "static image, errands, calendar, check-in, apps, dynamic image and news message center" were all on small pieces of paper. I gained a greater understand at the end when I went around to each participant and they explained why they laid out their screen a certain way.
Each applicant had a different solution but each solution I used in the next wire-framing activity.
